After immigrating to the US from South Africa, I began integrating undefined organic shapes with traditional drawings and sculptures. Shape and line are my specialties. Graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA, I constantly strive to work across disciplines. With each line I try drum up a rhythm for your eyes. A crucial element to the line is the improvisation of its creation. No two shapes will ever repeat itself. Despite this lack of repetition, patterns still emerge in the audience's mind. This process is applied to anything whether it be an ink portrait or an 8ft abstract sheet of steel. My main goal is to create something I've never seen before, even if the subject matter is a common one.
